Excel for Analyzing Inefficiency and Preference Manipulation in Two-Sided Matching: A User's Manual

This manual explains how to use Excel for Analyses of Two-Sided Matching which is available at a GitHub repository. Two-sided matching is an assignment problem, where in-house workers are assigned to one of divisions each having its capacity. The program is designed to run the DA and IA (or Boston) algorithms to compute matchings, also for heuristically evaluating the inefficiency of a matching, searching better choices for each worker against the preferences stated by the other workers under the Boston algorithm, and searching choices that generate the identical assignment for a worker under the DA algorithm. The program requires the complete lists of workers' preference over divisions and divisions' priority orders over workers. The Appendix provides illustrative explanations about the computational processes of the algorithms.
